Declaration on accessibility

Accessibility is a central component of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD). This convention, which was adopted in 2006 and is legally binding in many countries, including Germany, aims to strengthen the rights of people with disabilities and ensure their full and equal participation in society. The TÜV NORD GROUP supports this important goal.

TÜV NORD GROUP endeavours to make its websites accessible in accordance with national accessibility legislation such as the BFSG with BFSGV.

This declaration on digital accessibility applies to all TÜV NORD GROUP websites, with technical implementation by TÜV NORD Service GmbH.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

June 2025

This website is partially compliant with national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council to make content accessible due to the following exceptions.

The following content is not accessible

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

  • Subtitles for videos: some videos do not have subtitles. We endeavour to add subtitles to newly posted videos as soon as possible after publication.
  • Alternatives for audio files and silent videos: Some audio files do not have text alternatives.
  • Recorded videos with subtitles: If the audio track of a recorded video contains information, subtitles must be provided as an alternative. This is currently not the case for all videos.
  • Alternative texts for control elements: Graphic control elements must be provided with alternative texts. This is currently not always the case.
  • PDF downloads: Downloads should be barrier-free. There are currently numerous older PDF downloads available in the system, some of which are not barrier-free. We are endeavouring to make newly uploaded PDF files accessible.
  • Usable without colours: Information conveyed via colours should also be available without the perception of the colour, i.e. additionally highlighted by other means (such as bold or indentation). This is not yet the case for some cartographic data. In the ongoing creation of new graphics and control elements, we endeavour to clearly highlight lines and areas even without colour information.
  • Text contrasts: The contrast ratio between foreground and background colour should be at least 4.5:1 for texts. The contrast requirements are not yet met on all subpages.

Please report any barriers to us - we look forward to your feedback on accessibility. You can reach us at this e-mail address: info@encos.de

Enforcement procedure

The Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities has an arbitration centre in accordance with Section 16 BGG. The Arbitration Centre has the task of resolving conflicts between people with disabilities and federal public bodies.

You can contact the arbitration board if you are not satisfied with the answers you receive from the above-mentioned contact options. The aim is not to find winners or losers. Rather, the aim is to find a solution to a problem together and out of court with the help of the arbitration board.

The conciliation procedure is free of charge. You also do not need legal advice.

You can find all the information about the conciliation procedure on the conciliation body's website. There you can read how the conciliation procedure works and how to apply for conciliation. You can also submit the application in plain language or in German sign language.
