Pipe classes are essential for pipework planning, both from a process engineering and structural perspective. They define all pipework components, grouped by nominal diameter, which may be used for a specific media group in accordance with the specified pressure rating range. A finished pipeline therefore consists of components of a certain pipe class, which are ideally tested for strength with regard to pressure and temperature. This clearly and precisely defines the permissible range of use.
