Plan design/feasibility studies

From the idea to the process solution

Support from idea development to implementation: Our expertise in feasibility studies

We support our customers from the early stages of idea development with core competencies established through decades of experience in the implementation of a wide range of process engineering processes. Our expertise enables us to develop customised solutions that meet the specific requirements of your projects. By working closely with our customers, we ensure that each feasibility study is precisely tailored to individual needs and objectives.

What are feasibility studies?

Feasibility studies are crucial for making qualified decisions about the further pursuit of project ideas. They provide a solid basis for starting basic engineering with clearly defined specifications for the process to be implemented. The following aspects are of primary importance:

  • Process development: Analysis and optimisation of processes to achieve the project objectives. This includes the identification of innovation potential and the integration of new technologies.
  • Comparison of process alternatives: Evaluation of different processes to identify the best solution. Both technical and economic factors are taken into account.
  • Analysing the feasibility of target values: Checking whether the desired goals are realistic and achievable. This includes analysing market conditions and technological limits.
  • Preliminary planning with rough dimensioning: First planning steps to define the basic parameters. This phase serves to visualise the project and identify potential challenges.
  • Determination of indicative investment costs: Estimation of costs in order to make a well-founded investment decision. All relevant cost factors are taken into account in order to obtain a comprehensive picture of the financial requirements.

What is the purpose of feasibility studies?

Feasibility studies are particularly valuable when realigning the use of existing process plants in terms of optimisation, throughput or use for new products. The development of new processes or sub-processes for specific product requirements is also a focal point. The objectives are primarily:

  • Process development: Adaptation and improvement of existing processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Execution of debottlenecking/revamp projects: Elimination of bottlenecks and modernisation of equipment to increase capacity and optimise performance.
  • Increasing energy efficiency: Optimising the use of energy to reduce costs and environmental impact. This includes the implementation of sustainable technologies and processes.

In addition to our expertise in general plant planning, we particularly impress with our many years of project experience in the following specialist areas:

  • Process engineering: Development and optimisation of processes for the manufacture and processing of products.
  • Process simulation: Use of simulation software to model and analyse processes in order to maximise efficiency.
  • Thermal separation technology: Application of technologies for separating mixtures of substances based on thermal properties.
  • Chemical reaction engineering: Design and optimisation of reactors and reaction processes for the production of chemical products.
  • Environmental requirements: Consideration of environmental regulations and standards to ensure sustainability and compliance.
